Herne Bay, Auckland

This gracious old Villa was purchased by my clients about three years ago.  I had previously successfully completed a beautiful home for them in Wellington and when they moved to Auckland, they naturally contacted me to help with this big project. They are a family of five, with three teenage children. When they first moved into their new home, I helped them with the upstairs bedrooms and fitting out a home office in one of the rooms. I also completed a family media room downstairs with built-in shelving.

Once they had lived there a while and got a feel for their new location, they were ready for stage two of the renovation. They secured the services of an Architect to make several structural changes to the kitchen, front living room. Also establishing a new guest bathroom and laundry.

My brief was to advise them and help with selecting kitchen cabinetry, island bench top, splash back tiles and kitchen furniture.  Laundry and bathroom cabinetry, tiles, door and window hardware.  Interior and Exterior paint colours and a roof colour.

Some of the finishes are a beautiful Italian granite for the centre island bench, Porters paint colours for the interior, solid brass door hardware, Italian floor and wall tiles, Feature pendant lighting from Europe and Belgian floor rugs.

Window treatments and lighting, including feature lighting throughout the home.  I also selected new carpet for the upstairs, which had only been partially done previously. Accessories like floor rugs were also selected by me, incorporating some of the client’s existing beautiful antique rugs into the scheme.  Custom made furniture and joinery made in New Zealand by selected craftsmen.  A wide array of fabrics for window treatments and furniture covering purchased through agents in Auckland from Europe.  Timber custom coloured blinds, made in New Zealand.
